Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 — Airport – Kumai – Tanjung Keluang – Houseboat
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Arrive at Pangkalan Bun Airport and transfer to Kumai, then board your houseboat and cruise for around two hours to Tanjung Keluang Turtle Beach, with lunch served onboard. In the afternoon, visit the turtle conservation camp to see baby hawksbill turtles, with an optional turtle release (IDR 50,000 per baby turtle, personal expense). After dinner onboard, join a guided night trek with a ranger to observe turtles laying eggs before spending the night on the houseboat.

Day 2 — Sungai Buluh Kecil – Tanjung Keluang
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy breakfast onboard before an early morning speedboat journey of about two hours across the Java Sea to Sungai Buluh Kecil. Cruise along the less-visited blackwater river, watching for orangutans, proboscis monkeys, macaques and various bird species. Visit Sungai Buluh Kecil Camp and the orangutan feeding site, then have lunch from a lunch box. In the afternoon, cruise downstream and cross Kumai Bay back to Tanjung Keluang for dinner and another overnight on the houseboat.

Day 3 — Tanjung Keluang – Tanjung Harapan Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Continue by boat along the Sekonyer River, taking in the rainforest scenery and riverside wildlife. Arrive at Tanjung Harapan Camp in time for the 15:00 orangutan feeding session and stay at the camp until around 16:00. Afterwards, continue your river cruise in search of proboscis monkeys and other wildlife, with lunch and dinner served onboard and another overnight on the houseboat.

Day 4 — Pondok Tanggui – Camp Leakey – Pondok Ambung
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Cruise upriver to Pondok Tanggui and take a short forest trek to the camp for the 09:00 orangutan feeding session, observing the orangutans until around 11:00. Return to the boat and continue toward Camp Leakey, watching for monkeys, crocodiles and birds along the river, and enjoy lunch onboard around midday. In the afternoon, attend the Camp Leakey orangutan feeding session from 14:00 to 15:00, then cruise downstream to Pondok Ambung Camp for dinner, a guided night trek to look for nocturnal wildlife, and an overnight on the houseboat.

Day 5 — Camp Natai Lengkuas – FNPF Camp – River Cruise
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Cruise downstream to the confluence of the Sekonyer River Kanan and transfer to a motorized canoe with local villagers. Visit Camp Natai Lengkuas (New Camp) for an orangutan feeding session, then return to the houseboat for lunch. Later, take a motorized canoe to the FNPF Jetty and enjoy a guided trek to the FNPF (Friends of the National Parks Foundation) Camp, where you can participate in tree planting as part of a carbon-offset programme (tree contribution: IDR 50,000 per tree, personal expense). Return to the river and cruise back to the houseboat for dinner and an overnight river cruise.

Day 6 — Motorized Canoe – Tanjung Harapan Village – Proboscis Monkey Spotting
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Travel by motorized canoe through narrow tributaries for wildlife and bird watching before returning to the houseboat for lunch. Cruise downstream to Tanjung Harapan Village to observe local daily life and village activities, with the option of a traditional local herbal spa at your own expense. In the late afternoon and evening, continue along the river searching for proboscis monkeys, then after dark enjoy the magical sight of thousands of fireflies illuminating the mangrove trees. Dinner is served onboard, followed by another overnight on the houseboat.

Day 7 — Houseboat – Kumai – Airport
Meal: Breakfast
Have breakfast onboard as you cruise downstream back to Kumai, then transfer directly to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your onward flight.
